Content Rating
TL;DR: Nova is PG-13. Mild swearing is okay. Hate speech, sexual content, and extreme violence are not.
Nova operates on a PG-13 standard. This means:
- Mild profanity is permitted in chat and user-created content.
- Our chat filter is intentionally relaxed — it does not block common mild swear words.
- Slurs, hate speech, and extreme profanity are not permitted.
- Sexually explicit content is not permitted.
- Extreme or gratuitous violence is not permitted.
We believe in giving users more freedom than platforms like Roblox while still maintaining a baseline level of respect and safety.
Chat and Communication
TL;DR: Talk naturally. Joke around. But don't harass people or use slurs.
Allowed
- Casual conversation, including mild swearing
- Friendly trash talk and competitive banter
- Humor, jokes, and memes
- Constructive criticism
- Discussing games, strategies, and tips
Not Allowed
- Harassment: Targeted, repeated, or severe abuse directed at another user
- Hate Speech: Language that attacks someone based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Threats: Real-world threats of violence, doxxing, or harm
- Sexual Content: Sexually explicit messages, solicitation, or grooming behavior
- Spam: Repeated unwanted messages, excessive caps, or flooding chat
- Impersonation: Pretending to be another user, staff member, or public figure
- Malicious Links: Sharing phishing links, malware, or scam URLs
Borderline Cases
Context matters. The word "damn" in casual conversation is fine. Using slurs to attack someone is not. When in doubt, ask yourself: "Would I say this in front of a reasonable person without making them uncomfortable?"
Game Creation
TL;DR: Build what you want within PG-13 limits. Don't steal other people's work. Don't make games designed to harm users.
Allowed
- Any game genre or concept within PG-13 standards
- Mild cartoon violence
- Competitive gameplay
- Horror themes (without extreme gore)
- Social and roleplay games
- Creative and experimental projects
Not Allowed
- Stolen Content: Uploading games or assets that you didn't create or don't have permission to use
- Malicious Games: Games designed to crash clients, exploit vulnerabilities, or harm users' devices
- Scam Games: Games designed to deceive users into giving up accounts, currency, or personal information
- Explicit Content: Games containing sexually explicit material or extreme gore
- Real-World Harm: Games that encourage or simulate real-world violence, self-harm, or illegal activities
User Profiles and Avatars
TL;DR: Express yourself. Just don't be offensive or impersonate others.
- Your avatar and profile can reflect your personality and style.
- Offensive, hateful, or sexually explicit avatar configurations are not permitted.
- Do not impersonate other users, staff members, or public figures.
- Profile descriptions follow the same PG-13 standards as chat.
Economy and Trading
TL;DR: Play fair. Don't scam, exploit, or manipulate the economy.
- No Scamming: Deceiving other users into unfavorable trades or giving up virtual items under false pretenses is prohibited.
- No Exploiting: Using bugs or glitches to generate currency, items, or other advantages is prohibited. Report bugs instead.
- No Real-World Trading: Selling Nova accounts, currency, or items for real money is prohibited.
- Fair Play: Using unauthorized third-party tools, bots, or scripts to gain advantages is prohibited.
Reporting and Moderation
TL;DR: Report bad behavior. We'll review it. Don't abuse the report system.
How to Report
- Use the in-platform report function to report users, games, or content that violate these guidelines.
- Provide context when possible — screenshots or descriptions help us understand the situation.
What Happens After a Report
- Our moderation team will review the report.
- We may issue warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans depending on the severity and history of violations.
- We aim to be fair and consistent, but we're human — mistakes can happen. If you believe a moderation action was unjust, you can appeal through our Discord server.
Don't Abuse Reports
- Filing false or malicious reports is itself a violation and may result in action against your account.
- Mass-reporting a user or game as a form of harassment is prohibited.
Enforcement
TL;DR: We use a progressive discipline system. Repeated offenses lead to harsher consequences.
We use a progressive enforcement system:

Some violations skip directly to permanent bans, including but not limited to:
- Distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Real-world threats of violence or terrorism
- Doxxing (sharing someone's real-world personal information)
- Platform-wide exploits or attacks
We reserve the right to take action at any severity level based on our assessment of the situation.
Appeals
TL;DR: Got banned unfairly? You can appeal. We'll take another look.
If you believe a moderation action was unjust or disproportionate, you may appeal by contacting us through our Discord server. Include:
- Your username
- The action taken against you
- Why you believe it was unjust
- Any relevant context or evidence
We will review appeals in good faith, but we are not obligated to reverse any decision.
Staff Conduct
TL;DR: Our staff follows the same rules. If a staff member is abusing their power, report them.
Nova staff members are expected to follow these same guidelines. Staff members have additional moderation tools, but they are not above the rules. If you believe a staff member is abusing their position, please report it to a higher-level administrator or through our Discord server.
Updates to These Guidelines
TL;DR: We can update these guidelines as the platform evolves. We'll notify you of major changes.
We may update these Community Guidelines as Nova grows and evolves. We will notify users of significant changes through the Platform or via Discord. Continued use of Nova after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
